I’ve seen and felt the MC’s love and emotions for her but other than others saying she supposedly loved the MC her actions (and lack there of) haven’t really made be believe she loves him all that much, definitely not as much as he loved her. Also, I’m sorry but I was really hoping for more from the “why did you betray Cedric” conversation. Her actions didn’t really much if any love at all. If anything it was a knife in the back and a betrayal at the worst possible time. She said she tried, when? Where? How? She said that nothing would change and he was fated to die there….even if that was true she could’ve told him SOMETHING other than just turning her back on him and walking away while all the others talked smack to him and then attacked and killed him. If someone I loved was going to die like that no way would I ignore their questions and turn my back and walk away. I’d stand by their side or at the very least not run away in their darkest moment. She not only basically ignored him but she turned her back and ran away too. She could’ve tried to give him some words of comfort or at least tried to let him know what the situation was, that she loves him, or at least whisper that she’ll get revenge for him or something. No sobbing and holding onto him, not much of anything really. Instead she hurts him worse than any of the other people and turns her back on him, basically not really talking at all and leaving him further betrayed and heartbroken. Now knowing she’s the Oracle she didn’t even refuse Derek labeling the MC as the dangerous one in the prophecy. It was HER prophecy for crying out loud and she stood by and let it be twisted and the guy who loved her so much get falsely accused. Even if he had to die his memory/reputation and others he cared about could’ve been spared, but nah the scene read like she decided to wash her hands of him and walked away to make it easier on herself. Then we find out she’s a selectively mute old woman in “jail”. I would’ve much rather her been a blubbering mess that apologized over and over to the MC when they brought up her betraying him, the man she supposedly loved. To me, it would have been much more memorable and impactful to see her grief, shame, remorse, apologies, and love for him, etc in “real time”. Instead all we got was her grabbing his clothing, then turning her back on him and walking away even as he called out to her before they killed him…then we get flash forward to her being an apathetic prisoner of that delusional piece of trash Derek (who needs to die ASAP). It’s hard not to just see her as a trashy person who turned her back on the man who loved her more than anything when he needed her the most. If she really loved him it feels like she would done or said more when she was there right in front of him, even if it wouldn’t have prevented his death she could’ve not broken his heart and betrayed/abandoned him like all the others. Also, the MC has suffered way too much, and continues to suffer and experience set backs even in his “new life”. I really hope the author stops dumping on the MC and those he cares about and puts that energy into letting the MC and those her cares about wrecking the bad guys and those who deserve it.
I’m happy to see a new novel from Awe, but personally I am disappointed that it’s not a harem novel. I know some don’t like them, but I’ve always enjoyed the way Awe handled romance and relationships in their stories. I was hoping that this was a story with a small harem (3-4) or even a story with two wives that would serve as a foil for the MC and the world that Awe is building. I’m hoping that Awe will at least add enough romance to warrant a “Romance” tag. A romantic subplot is a great way to add further dept and development to the main character and the story itself. It’s nice to see a MC that is multi-dimensional and is able to focus on things other than training or fighting all the time, etc. So I’ll keep my fingers crossed for that “Romance” tag. Best of luck with your writing.
Poor girl, stuck alone in the woods all these years. I hope Ryu at least helps her live a good life. It wouldn’t take him 5 minutes to make it happen. Really makes me miss Yaana and the others too.
So now he’s forced to not cultivate AND he’s only a quasi-Lord? It’s like Awe wanted to come up with a way where Ryu got stronger while getting hit with a semi-nerf at the same time, lol.
Seriously? So not only did we lose all those chapters on his re-cultivation he’s not even a full Dao Lord? 😭
Agreed. Especially when we get to see Ryu interacting/spending time doing cute stuff with any of his wives. I’ve missed chapters like these. Hopefully we’ll get more. Hope Yaana is back soon too.
Ughhhhhh, I like Ryu getting stronger but we haven’t even made it close to the end of the line yet and he’s already starting over yet again, 😭. I love the story and I know it’s not a nerf but it feels like one since now it’s going to take chapters to get him back to where he is now. Hopefully it won’t take too long.
Wonder why Awe is introducing this now, when Ryu is apparently hinting he’ll start recultivating from scratch after this Tribulation. Not that I’m not happy to see one of Ryu’s wives, especially one we haven’t seen in a long time. Need more Yaana too, and all the others. Any wife time is good. I hope if he does recultivate for the Title Steele that it won’t take a lot of chapters. I’m also looking forward to these stupid Martial Gods dying, all of them except for Elena.
Agreed. And now if got hinted at a few chaps ago that he might recultivate. So if he does that it seems like it’ll be a while before he’s even back to where he is now.
If even Ailsa is iffy about them, then how the hell would anyone survive a 4th-9th Revolution Wrath tribulation? If even a 3rd seems almost impossible for even Ryu then it seems so ridiculous that it’s basically the Heavens just trying to murder people at that point, lol.
