Those branches were counted as part of the parent family when discussing the “achievement” of the Gold ranks early on, since the main houses provide the funding and ultimately control the Gold rank soldiers involved. I may not have explained that clearly enough. Ignatius’ family is the wildcard in that equation, the 5th family.
