I really enjoyed this story and what a ride. I loved following Melisa and her story from nothing to Court Mage. If this is the end, thanks for sharing this awesome story with all of us. I'll check out more of your work when I get a chance.
Good grief. The term just started and Ageis has her hands full on multiple fronts. Shadow mages on the move, the church breathing down her neck, and knowing she has to pick a side before everything ramps up in this arc. She put herself into this spot at her wedding but still . . . she can't act recklessly since she's being watched. I don't envy her in the slightest.

When things are going good, that's when it all goes to hell in a single moment. Honestly though, this was bound to happen at some point but this felt a bit forced and I think she was baited at the same time. The whole attack felt off when you really think about it. Why that moment? That moment may have marked a turning point for Ageis and now she has a ton to worry about.

A duel is the simple way to settle this once and for all but we all know the Goldspire family will find a way to tip the scales in his favor. Now we get to see how Ageis will handle this once she learns of it; but the shadow mages is a different matter.

At least Darius has a good head on his shoulders. He's not in a full panic unlike his hysterical parents. His parents are just like Evangeline - trying to satisfy their own ends. To be honest, I highly doubt either Darius nor Talia want to get married to each other but the parents are trying to lock up alliances for themselves. Forcing love never works.
That's not a trap; it's a party. Now we see the second part of Ageis making Evangeline look like someone stuck in the old ways. This arc is getting good.
Now this is a place that Lisa would love. Too bad Aster is here for training.
