I liked the story, and I started reading because I wanted to read the manhwa of this novel. I think the main character, Lizzy, is pretty strong, and she's definitely a bit stubborn. I wasn't such a huge fan of the Emperor, Lucio, seemed like a bit of a blockhead where Rosemond was concerned. I think he was decently fleshed out as a character with hIs background. [SPOILER ALERT] One thing I didn't like was that Lizzy was infertile, and that I was fully expecting some miracle baby because she was sick soon after having ***. Lol It's my fault for believing it, but I'm still mad. I also kinda wish the side stories were focused on Lucio and Lizzy, as they only shared a bit of time together as a real couple before the story concluded. Overall, not a bad read - drama galore, but a bit too much angst.

This is marked as completed when it shouldn't be, and I'm mad because I only started reading this as it said it was finished. This is by far a slow burn novel, there's no real romance to speak of until maybe chapter 150 or so. I also feel like the plot just gets drawn out because it's bogged down with so much background info. Not to mention the translation is inconsistent when it comes to character descriptions - it's always interchanging eye colors between characters so it gets muddled. Disappointed I started reading this. The plot is good - don't get me wrong, it's just that this story doesn't seem to be going anywhere...

I really liked this story! The female lead is a bit iffy in the beginning for me, but she becomes stronger later on. All the characters were very likeable, and nothing felt rushed.
