Instead of all this he could just made a camera that can be used to record the matches and then sell tv's enchanted by him to watch it in. This feels overkill for something so mundane.
And the last piece, the one that had taken the longest and made me genuinely proud when it finally worked, let whoever was viewing pause the memory mid-motion, rewind it, run it forward again slower than real time — a function no true Pensieve, as far as any of my research suggested, had ever actually offered, the old magic apparently content to let a memory simply play through at its own pace regardless of what the viewer wanted from it. I'd built something, I realized somewhere around the third week, that wasn't merely a workable substitute for the real thing. In at least this one respect, it was better.
