Getting rid of the weakness to water associated with devil fruits was practically mandatory when creating them. I doubted I would be around water too often now that I am a demon, but you can never be too careful. also use name that arent so different from normally used words. let the key words be mixed with normal conversations.devourers can be quickly discovered as key word than word like lizards. plus lizard also symbolises the group itself as it was made by human lizard hybrid.

have the name changed in chaotic but predictable manners. for example going by specific combination of date and day itself.if its an even date like 4 or 6 and sunday use another name, odd date like 1 or 5 and sunday use another name.for complexity include multiple name on same day.different name is used in different bases at same day changing regularly.include months or seasons to make it extra difficult.another idea is to build image of different groups or actually have different groups.each group to show certian traits and manage them differently.one group can show aggressiveness while another group can be used for stealthy missions.use different groups to create constant chaos so people will have to switch there attention regularly.the later trick might not work on something like shield scince they have manpower and can determine groups to survey and locate each group differently.
