He could have created a skill book that whoever used would have whatever skill or knowledge automatically transmitted into their mind without all this hassle.

I like your dark mcu but then please stop with the trigger warnings and spoilers for the slightest dark thing happening. Its so jarring being immersed and all of a sudden [Trigger warning: here some spoilers] then everything after is not as impactful or interesting.

The reason for that nonsensical fight was to have a dramatical introduction to the temple. It's forced and immersion breaking when authors write this way.

But SHIELD is infiltrated by hydra, if he goes there for refuge, hydra could assassinated, monitor or control him to go on suicide missions.
"Fuck!" I yelled out in frustration. As long as I was powerless, I would be just another pawn for them to use and discard whenever they want. Remembering the original Crossbones mutilation and inevitable death, I knew I didn't want my story to end that way.
