Birds chirped on the branches outside a window on the third floor. The voices of honking were heard in the background, mixed with the sound of ladies bargaining with the shopkeepers on the other side of the road. Kittens r v cute, but I have a sneaking suspicion that he doesn’t know how often kittens need to be fed (especially if they’re neonatal).
He snuck back into the barn and tucked the snowy kitten into the large pocket of the coat he had just acquired. It was snug and warm enough that the kitten settled down comfortably. Syryn knew that the barn would burn down in a week when a slaving caravan would pass by and attack the townsfolk. He had no qualms about purloining the kitten from its mother. He could not remember if Buttercup survived but knowing how fond Ringi's grandchild was of the old cow, he had hopes for her rescue. I’ll be honest with you. Even without a deeper meaning, this is just a brilliant parenting move (for someone as rich as she is, I would never expect a parent to take out a loan for a situation like this). Just, being a supportive parent and trusting your child who is almost an adult to make a big decision like this that they’re so clearly passionate about in the learning safety of your own home is priceless. Especially since she made it fairly clear that this is basically coming out of what she set aside as his inheritance, and gave him the option to back out if he wanted to keep the money for something else in the future, while also making it pretty clear he wasn’t blowing his whole inheritance. 10/10 adore this woman.

It’s not just because he’s discriminating because he ‘looks poor’ but because he smells like he hasn’t showered in a while, my dude is literally visibly dirty. He slept in a pile of trash, and just vomited and the store would not want that smell/literal garbage getting into the high end, potentially delicate clothing they’d then have to probably get dry cleaned (you just know most of their stuff is dry clean only). Not to mention the smell permeating the store itself given their clientele base and how it would drive off other customers/make more work for the likely underpaid employees that would have to clean up after him. Like, maybe go get physically cleaned up first now that you have infinite money my dude??
