While I was doing this everything around me stopped. The wind, the noise, everything. The forest was completely silent. The air felt dead, flat and thick. I decided to tap on my metal water bottle with my ring to see if I could hear the echo. The muffled taps sounded as if I had earplugs in. This quickly reminded me of a scene from the old tv adaptation of Steven Kings 'The Langoliers' where everything was similar. Flat, dead air. Matches wouldn't light, pop bottles wouldn't fizz when opened, etc. I had experienced this before while hunting but this was different, a much stronger feeling of discomfort. Like it was magnified in this area specifically. Putting my stuffing my bag I began to feel heavy, almost tired but more so heavy.
