[A/N: Thoughts on Nicknaming - I won't be nicknaming Pokemons in my fic (at least not for Orion's Pokemons). The reason is that when I read some of the other fanfics that nicknamed their Pokemons, it got super confusing for me, especially if I am reading that fanfic after some time or if the release rate is slow or inconsistent. I don't want to put my readers through the same as it is annoying having to go back and check which nickname is for which mon. I could circumvent that by using simpler nicknames, like say Rhy for Rhyhorn and its evolutions, but honestly, there isn't much difference. So for simplicity, nicknames won't be used at least by Orion.] - DumbDolphin3mthCommented
There are some fics with nicknames that just works so well because the nickname encapsulate their pokemon personality and species. If you ca manage to do that, nicknames might not be a bad idea.

I'd say Sinnoh and Hoenn are around the same level, or a bit better. We have bulky water type, but this one is Special Attacker. We have bulky grass type, the same as gen 1, with focus on physical attack. And we have the fast dual physical and special attacking first type, which I reckon is better than Blaziken without the mega. Infernape is faster than Blaziken without speed boost, and if both have their hidden ability, Infernaps I say would be better, Iron Fist Mach Punch and other punches are OP.
Only Professor Oak gives the 3 starters every year. But they are reserved for the 3 most talented youngsters from Pallet town. As someone from Saffron City, I'm already out of the competition. Kinda sucks. I wanted to start with Charmander.
