to be fair, they just comeback to changed timeline and experienced how heavy the consequences of messing with time machines is. plis, Nathan being the boss of criminal organization, mind raping people, being friends with a half-demon daugther of the incarnation of evil, overal shady and confrontational, and also not knowing how much of the Nathan they knew is there isn't making him any favors. if we had the same amount of info they have right now as heores we will probably do the same.

technically, the ones Shallot is talking to right now are the originals. the inflection point comes to that one scene were mc goes to the library and sees Superman on an old WW2 picture. Basically what happens is Shallot 1 (which we will call Nathan to diferentiate him from the Shallot we know) arrives to Earth. Recruitment of the JL. Nathan starts a relationship with Diana. He trains and recruits other heroes, at the cost of his own progress. The JL goes back in time to WW2. They return to a changed Earth. Before this last part, we reach the important part of the dilemma. As much as the JL tried to keep the future the same, they missed that one picture. A picture that in this timeline Nathan saw. Ergo, he became Shallot. In this timeline Shallot will be a lot more callous. He will meet Supergirl and start a relationship. An invasion willl happen in Portoand. He will not be in very good terms with the majority of the JL. He will meet and help Raven. Thus, Shallot, the one we know and have read about so far, is the second timeline version of the original Nathan.
But it seemed like they had thought about this possibility as well. Another obvious solution would be to just kill them all and be done with it. A significant portion of Darkseid's forces would be gone just because he tried to kidnap me.
