because japan popularised yandere and as the place where such a term was born... its natural to have the most of it in the world so to hide the fact that they want a harem from their wives and show them they are the 'only' love of their lives they write harem fics where the mcs are dense and either dog lick the female leads which they will marry or have conflicts with a female of the group till they marry the woman ALONE in the end... pathetic aint it... but well what can i say other than :
