He himself may have less trouble if he is feared, but what about his parents and friends after they ascended to heaven and use his names? Is it better to have many enemies who see a new weakness or have many friends who help them? And if you only want to see the Characters fight then yeah, a "good" character is boring for you, who doesn't has to fight all the time after leaving or even in the safezones. Xuefeng killed the dude (i already forgot his name) directly after. He needs to be ruthless sometimes, but here he was asking himself because he killed people who fought against him in a tournament. Most of them just fought against him because they wanted to show they strength, become stronger by fighting experience, or get the recourses, and not because they threatened him or his family. So were would have been the difference between between him killing everybody in the tournament and a mindless killer?

It's funny how easy it is to predict some comments after the mc said he doesn't want to kill everyone. Yes, sure, he should kill everybody who threatens his family, especially because they will come back if you show mercy to them. But firstly in this case it was a fcking tournament and most probably not everybody has bad blood with xuefeng, but just follows orders or wants to win for the price. Secondly, if he kills everybody who said a bad word to him, it will become a chain of death. Xuefeng kills someone who flirted with one of his wifes, after that his brother comes to take revenge and gets killed, after that his master and bla bla bla... Even if he is strong enough to kill them all, after killing thousands of people he will earn fear not honor. And Xuefeng was/is always an emotional character, who doesn't fear to kill for his family but still isn't a mindless lunatic...

there is a difference between defending your family and killing everybody who wants do win against you in a TOURNAMENT...
