Right, because acting arrogant and letting people suppose that you have great strength when you don't even know the basics is sooooo clever! I feel like it won't be long before this story gets on my nerves… yet again… What's frustrating about xianxa is that they truly have such a rich mythology and soooo little actual good stuff to read… I love xianxa, but I hate xianxa at the same time. Stop trying to write clever MC! If the MC was depicted has having average intelligence that kind of stuff wouldn't bother me. Or even better: don't describe his IQ, let the readers have their opinion on it. If in the firsts chapters you describe the MC has mature and clever, I expect some kind of behavior in line with it. Clever MC is hard to write because you actually have to be clever and, let's face it, most authors and most of us are average mortals.

Ever since Han Li had become his official apprentice, Doctor Mo had personally dipped into his own supply of herbs for Han Li to consume. Not only that, Doctor Mo also created an unknown medicinal bath for him to soak his body in. Han Li didn’t know what types of herbs were being used, but as he watched Doctor carefully refine those herbs, his normally impassive face revealed a hint of reluctance. Smells fishy: secret chant that other sect members can't learn, sick old doctor taking random kids from the lower ranks of the sect... My guess: he wants to use them as some sort of pill to heal himself.

Does no one get my point? And what's the link with farming here? Where is the analogy between taking care of vegetables and controlling the life of other human beings? He literally has the possibility to force them to do anything by controlling their life and death. He can even size their cultivation. This is, by definition, the evil cultivation path...
