I have read until chapter 31. The Slime Sovereign follows Alaric, who has the ability of being an authoritative figure in the hearts of slimes It seems weak at first, but quickly we realize that slimes have more potential than expected. So far, I've had fun following Alaric. His character development has been an amazing sight to see, his dead family and friends compelling him to live on, for revenge. In fact, he finds it so important to live that he resorts to cowardice. In chapter 31, we see a change. One of the slimes under his command highly disapproves of cowardice, and convinces the very same Alaric who thought, "Pride? Shame? Is it nutritious?" to rethink his behavior. In this chapter, I was immediately hooked. Alaric realizes his potential as a king, and his cowardly behavior, which had obviously bothered Alaric himself beforehand, is addressed. I recommend this novel completely, I really feel like I am one with Alaric's kingdom, watching the king become better by the day. Small con, is pacing. Sometimes it gets a bit slow, but for good reason. Sometimes too fast, as if the author is experimenting. It IS their first novel, and I can't wait to see it reach its potential. Please keep updating, I love this novel!
