kinda just stuff ya gotta accept with this novel. used to pay for the newest chapters but stuff like this annoyed me too much. it's got a lot of bloat but i just try and get through it for the few gems that make this novel worth it.

why would they be? everything we know about these characters shows they don't really care about other people. plus one of them is basically in love with the guy

just wondering if there are any updates on if this novel will continue? genuinely really miss reading this

i really do enjoy this book and I think the author has amazing talent at providing a sense of progression and getting people hyped for Jake's power ups and honestly that's the strong point of this web novel. though as much as the author succeeds in that he also falls a little short on the character side, specifically providing meaningful personalities and consistent behaviour. most characters kinda just feel one note and cookie cutter and the ones that are interesting, like Jake and Lucia, tend to be fairly inconsistent in their behaviours. I know that through the progression of there stats and gaining soul classes that their behaviours and personalities are gonna shift and change but when it happens so often it gets hard to actually relate and like characters because every dozen chapters they are completely different. TLDR: author is great at power ups, fight scenes and providing a general feeling of badassery but needs to work on giving the characters more layers and consistency.

something I'd like to mention is the whole personality change with Jake's rune soul class. a dozen or so chapters after he got it it was never really mentioned again. when I say mentioned I mean like it never had an effect afterwards. he's meant to obsess over small runes to the point where he sometimes forgets about his soundings but outside the 1 time that's happened it's never been brought up since

very minor thing but his mouth glowing doesn't match it being dark in there. not pick but thought I'd mention it

a massive part of this book is just that. used to pay for the advancement chapters but now I just use the daily free tickets to read since half the time no actual progression happens

that is a fair point about how they got in. still think it's a long shot but ya fair point

full moon? happens every month. charm effect? don't need a god for that, just someone with a powerful charm like say.... the vampires. stealth skills? I'm assuming all the factions would have someone like that but especially the undead and dark elf's. and the killing the family members? any of the stealth specialists, bribing members, charming members etc. powerful artifact? pretty sure the most powerful people in the empire, apparently, can find something that will work

well partly focused. yeah he is a lot higher but the Dukes LV is in the 80s and Jake was weaker when he encountered her. either way he is the LEADER of the ROYAL GUARD. if he truly is that weak then how hasn't the empire been taken over my this city? if one of the strongest people in the empire is the Duke then it ain't exactly much. before you say the empire is small potatoes compared to other nations it doesn't matter. it was established early that while on a planetary scale they ain't big but they are still far stronger than this city (I'm saying this city because I can't spell it haha) yet so many elites get massacred and apparently one of the strongest people in said empire can't be bested by a player with a charm effect that Jake shrugged off when he was a lot weaker

I'm just saying it seems real easy to take down a faction. some miasma and a full moon really too a whole faction out? not to mention how easy it was for them to sneak in to these places and kill everyone?

I know who made it but Jake was able to resist it (yes he is far stronger than the Duke but still) for the apparent captain of the royal guard he seems pretty weak to me. it all seems to easy and contrived
