I realize the name isn't unisex, but Ariadne seems a good fit. Both act as guides to the protagonists of their respective stories, and depending on what you have planned for Genesis' past, you could draw parallels to her betrayal, and the better outcome because of it.Also, if you were to shorten it to Ari most of the time, it would be unisex (even if the root language is different)

With that in mind, if you wanted to vary it a bit, you could make some of the characters like the lower gang members or mediocre mercenaries swear more, use slang, or use improper grammar.

I think the style of English that you use suits the types of characters that are in the story. The cast of characters includes lawyers (and lawyers in training), wealthy families, powerful men & women, etc.; so good grammar and extensive verbage is appropriate.
