he has countless dragon slayer magic he gained from combining with other magic, since he hasn't gone around to teach others every form of dragon slayer magic he has, this means he didn't really master said new magic. plus, not all drawbacks of the magic disappears. for one if he had turned into a dragon before getting the tattoo he would have been like Irene and lost his humanity

what is a weak mindset? MC is confused about what is feeling and is scared is trust so early because of past events. does that mean he has a weak mindset? I think it makes mc more human, he was scarred by past events and will work to heal. MC is not submissive towards anyone, sure when he lost his memories he could be considered to be towards Irene. but at that point, was he Sora at that time? he doesn't know what he wants when he is around Erza and others. not knowing yourself doesn't make you weak, it makes you lost. which is why MC wants to go on a journey of self-discovery. in my opinion that makes MC stronger, instead of running. he is trying to find himself and heal
