well, not every chapter can be filled with top notch content (if you can even call fanfiction 'top notch' to begin with) and since I'm somewhat lacking in time when I'm writing, I try to write them in such a way that they have something along the lines of both a beginning and an end. (Partially also because I don't know when my muse will strike me again, which may take some time.)
