Simple - they sell custom Expert mechs! Mechs that have a HIGH chance of Masterwork status. Possibly even a garrenteed chance by the time Gloriana makes Master. Or "mass market" mech designs with Ves's signature method of locking them to a specific group. They might only sell a select handful of "gold label" mechs" total from fleet production lines - but would still make a lot of money.

That is assuming those shares are still in the hands of mere 3rd class states. The LMC is starting to pull in a LOT of cash. Master Willix is putting on a show for her fellow designer as well. She knows how stubborn Ves can be. And Mr S is clearly very elusive and yet... for some reason... decided this tenuous connection through Ves is worth doing.

Ves and Janizi need to make up for ALL the pilots to have a shot at embracing their full potential. 'Cus right now Ves is never gonna do more then his legal minimum while trying to ignore how much he hates her.

The real block to making Janizi's expert mech a Masterwork is the fact one of the primary designers doesn't LIKE her! Ves broke through to Journeyman with that mech - but the pilot distorted his original intent with her own meaning. So now Ves hates it.

They won't. Master Willix only took prototypes of his crystal guns AFTER she paid for them. And even then Ves was only planning to use them because they were too expensive to scrap. (He can make much better already)
