Hello, Author of Project Overworld here! Just to let you all know that this story is currently indefinitely paused (I got myself a job and I'm only doing some writing in my free time now). I haven't brought myself to set the state of this story into "Completed" yet since I feel like the ending is a bit rushed and there are some ideas worth investigating for a potential sequel. In any case, I had a wonderful time writing and releasing this novel on this website, so much so that writing became one of my favorite hobbies out there. I hope you all will enjoy reading Project Overworld if you are new to it, or other wonderful stories if you've already reached the ending point of my novel!
Thank you for your concern, this really means a lot to me. In fact, in the last year and a half I have been very occupied finishing up my studies as well as looking for a job (which I've successfuly landed by the way). I don't think I will be continuing this story anymore, since it requires a lot of work to keep up with the pace. Writing is still one of my dear hobbies but I can't really release daily or weekly anymore. For that reason, I think I will focus on different stories in my backlog for as long as they are not finished. Maybe one of these days Project Overworld will get its long awaited continuation, but I can't be so sure about it (especially since I realized how many chapters I'd have to update and rewrite on this website). Cheers mate, have a wonderful time on Webnovel! By the way, I will release my own review of Project Overworld so that people may be made aware of the current state of the book.
Yeah, my earlier chapters were kind of elusive in that regard and I'm currently trying my best to fix this kind of issue.
Oh, really? Could you share the link?
Woo**, I meant 12 miles per hour...
I haven't talked about this, but there should be farming spots around each city of the world. A player's needs are satisfied really easily, so it doesn't require meat of anything like that. Basically, they should only be cultivating various grains and vegetables.
I agree, but in that particular context I meant Humanity as in the real world. Since it's a simulation, there's a possibility that players' creations may be useful within the real world and vice versa.
Oh really? I thought it was around twice as big... Welp, I'm gonna change that soon x)
Well, Project Overworld is supposed to be a simulation, so no NPC should be ever introduced in there. The limit of player is obviously due to technical limitations, and I even sometimes think that a hundred thousand simultaneous connections may be a stretch. Finally, just because I don't talk about other players crafting guns and other items doesn't mean they do not exist. There may have been a player who was a fun expert in real life and developed such technology before anyone else. However this is irrelevant to my story since I did not imagine such playing crossing ways with the main character. I hope I did address your concerns, and that I successfully explained some foggy areas in my story.
That is why I said he never was a slave by any means. He was both free physically and mentally, he was just working under a contract requiring him to make some tools for someone else. Also, since this is a game he was free to kill his character and started again from spawn or simply walk out of there while taking a minimum of resources (which he did). He was more or less okay with the contract since he did not choose any of those options.
I was reading this review for a while, trying to think of something to say about it. First, I really don't like the word slavery. Keith never got enslaved by any means, although he had to help some people out because of the risk of being attacked in turn. Then, if you read the story more deeply you'll understand it didn't take "hours" for him to develop black powder rifles, but something more in the line of months. I didn't really add every random thoughts in my story, I just tried making it interesting since most of it revolves around crafting anyways. I'm sorry if you felt it that way, and I hope you have an enjoyable time on this platform.
