has this novel been abandoned? no updates in quite a long time and the last dozen or so chapters have just been empty filler with no advancing of the story....

I find it very hard to get invested in the MC... he goes beyond low-key and is just completely self-centered and lacks even the most basic inter-personal connections. Basically there is no point to his existence, he cultivates only so he doesn't die, and only does the absolute bare minimum for those characters supporting him and even then, only when it benefits him or would otherwise disrupt his cultivation. the pacing of this book is killing my soul... half a dozen cgapters and the discples have converted the country to their church, but this stupid waste of time battle arc is never ending....
