Hellenism is what you would as Greek mythology and has been recognized as a religion since 2016 if I remember correctly. They don’t really worship gods but follow and interpret the symbolism and points in the stories of the gods. Sure they pray to the gods, but humanity and the gods are similar in nature. Which is sort of what would attract me to the religion, as I’d want a god/gods which were relatable, not something that felt artificially perfect. (I am not Hellenistic, I am atheist, so my knowledge isn’t perfect.) As for you interpretation of Christ’s sacrifice I’d say it’s a valid and good interpretation. Not one I could worship, but valid nonetheless.

(Sorry for the second comment). If we look at the god which they preach about and Jesus, it seems so unobtainable that the religion loses its humanity and relativity. How can one worship something that which is nothing like oneself. That’s where I find Hellenistic belief to be more human. The gods which are worshipped are very human, in the way that they are flawed, experience happiness and sadness, and die. Again just my opinion
