The very notion made Mallory's heart skip a beat. Leaning back against his seat, Hadeon's gaze turned predatory, his eyes shimmering with a golden gleam. Before Mallory could object, Hadeon leaned in, his lips sealing around the wound from which blood still dripped. She was very aware of his lips that grazed against her wound, which sent a shiver down her spine mixed with pain and something else. He sucked the area, bringing a current of pain with her toes curling. Her heart fluttered at the sensation, and her cheeks flamed to the colour of ripe tomatoes. I think Mal should give Hadeon the Benefit of doubt. Like he’s never done much to put her in harms way… teases to no end of course and tries to put her in dangerous situations, umm yes… but he’s always there for her… u know 🤷♀️

We readers are afraid… afraid of Ash’s teasing… which she is a master at. Lick that foot clean and heal her wound in the process. Make her heart flutter…while making us restless and blushing hard.

Mallory eyed the cigar, knowing she could use one to lower the stress he had put on her by turning her into a bait. This man was cruel! He had the audacity to call her a faithful servant and then use her for such dangerous tasks. There lingered a nagging suspicion that, when push came to shove, he'd toss her aside without batting an eye.
