Didn’t Thyme say meditation doesn’t speed up mana regeneration?
It was grating on their minds. Nixilei was struggling to regenerate more mana then the bare minimum because she couldn't slip out of 'combat mode' long enough to meditate. Asteodia wasn't doing much better because she had to keep focus on the path ahead to make sure they didn't hit anything, while keeping the bird in the corner of her eye so she could see it should it attack. If it was just those two things maybe it would be fine but Asteodia had to keep an eye on her hands, lest they start shaking. Shaky hands combined with turbulence was not what anyone wanted. - Artemius3mthCommented
Didn’t Thyme confirm that it doesn’t matter? You cannot speed it up like this, so I assume you can’t slow it down like this either

*Well now. That's an interesting perspective. I'm not sure that really would ensure a tie… but at the very least I'm willing to go along with it. Not sure if I'll try to ensure I get first place or not. I won't fight for it if Asteodia doesn't, I think. - Artemius4mthCommented

Though in the end, I guess I'm just not willing to say any of that aloud. Kress has been a lot better lately, not with me really but with everyone else. I'd hate to start picking on him and have him go back to being an ass to everyone that wasn't me, or one of the guards. At least he chose to do this on a day he wasn't competing. Heck, worse comes to worst he doesn't have to compete tomorrow either so it will be fine. Just… hopefully he doesn't look like too much of a slob.* - Artemius4mthCommented

The issue was, she'd been taking over a lot of Carl's work, and she was slowing down. Just a bit… but that little bit was adding up. Blue sent her running around the area, over and over, keeping the elf on the move. Marigold had returned the ball thousands of times at this point. I doubt it was thousands of times. Even if it’s one per second (pretty impossible already) it’d take more than 18 hours
