He tries to do that, but soon gives up because he's already drawing attention from others for other reasons, and in case you're worried about him being intentionally beaten up to hide his power, that doesn't happen in the story, since he didn't want to be the worst, he just wanted to stay average, not too strong nor too weak, but as I said, he gave up on that idea.
