Maybe not stupid, but very simple minded.

What about the blood on her face & arms? Did they suddenly disappear?

I know she is a little girl, but is she really going to be a stupid character. Even the most optimistic child will know that bullies don't turn nice overnight.

This was a good story, but I'm disappointed that it just ended abruptly. There was no resolution at all of any of the characters. She never got her property back, and foster mothers & and stepfathers' child issues were not resolved. So many things were going on in the story, and not one thing was resolved. Very disappointing and unsatisfying.

How did she speak if her mouth was gagged?

Thanks for explaining. I remember that happening but didn't realize it affected so many books. I thought it was only books and content that was more adult themed "R" rated and gay related subjects.
