I didn't word that part well, but it was implied that I'm excited we're finally about to see action. As for the rest, while I still enjoyed the chapter, I don't disagree with what you said about being disappointed after waiting for two weeks.

My point was that he's not a Lord in the context of power and can thus be easily restrained by introducing his nose to Arran's fist; in the Imperium the title is only held by those with the power to match it, to my knowledge at least. Kaleesh didn't address any lordlings as lords as far as I remember.

Arran was a Knight the moment he stepped into Enlightenment; then he had some practice in Panurge's dream to build on top of it. Now his already monstrous strength doubled even while in the Desolation (which apparently affects him less than others) and he got used to the suppression. He should absolutely destroy a single Knight in seconds, which gives him a shot at facing more than one at once.

I didn't think it was enough to justify it at the time; frankly I still don't agree entirely. As the story progressed I reconciled with the fact that some things are done for the sake of the story and aren't always the most logical to me.

My line of thinking was to use the part belonging to the original Dragon's Ruin as a delivery system, since it's something he can control to an extent. Think of it as force-feeding the other bloodlines that for now are like toddlers refusing a spoon offered to them. My metaphors are odd, I know.
