anyway, this isn't how law works. if one commits and crime and you commit another. you both are guilty and are both punished. in both cases what is punished is breaking the law.

"Punished?" Duke said, "I see no reason for these students to be punished, if you look at the report it seems like Vorden was the first to attack the others, they were simply retaliating, these types of things happen all the time."

I kinda love it. Perfect way to make fun of other novels.

"Wrong! Gaige, you're losing control in your swing. In order to complement your swordsmanship with your cultivation method, your technique needs to be more fluid and must also exhibit an aura of suppression. For that, you need to time the release of your dark-infused mana with each sword form," Wei Zao instructed from the side-lines.

This was not a fraudulent case. they won because the coffee being served was legitimately dangerous and cause massive damage to the woman.

Sure, some people would file seemingly nonsensical lawsuits to take advantage of certain omissions in the product or service's usage documentation or terms of services. For instance, take-away drink cups to hold hot beverages had to specifically indicate that its contents are hot, just because of a lawsuit filed by an old woman who suffered third-degree burns from spilt coffee from a fast-food franchise. For many, this may seem like a case of a lapse in common sense from the consumer's side, however, multiple facets to it warrant discussion.

I do love the mathematical approach

This additional expenditure follows a square relationship. That is, the amount of mana is proportional to the square of the extra distance beyond the mage's mana domain. This is because the mana domain forms a sphere, whose surface area is a function of the square of its radius. And when the spell exceeds the mana domain, the mage is forced to control the spell by establishing a pseudo mana domain that has a larger radius.

The general topic being discussed here would fall under philosophy of science.

Secondly, if the major premise used as the basis of comparison is not properly defined, then we experience something known as a deductive fallacy. Reconsidering the above horse example, while the fact that "all mammals give birth to live young" is true, it is not holistic. For instance, platypus and echidnas are mammals that lay eggs. Evidently, these are isolated cases, but the fact remains that unless defined during the deductive process, we open ourselves to a false conclusion. Because of that, there needs to be greater rigour when picking a general conclusion prior to deductive reasoning.

This is basic logic at the level of Aristotle. You would need a philosophy department to teach you an introduction to formal logic.

I mean scientists originally were philosophers. Aristotle is a candidate for first Western scientists.

In this world, the field of education had stagnated significantly. While there were courses on basic arithmetics, arts, civics, literature, and philosophy, there wasn't any field similar to science from Guy's old world.

There is a limit to this as well which was one my frustrations with the Heaven Library. Understanding is not the same as practical ability. Teacher's need understanding to teach. They don't need be and often are not the best. Yet their still the best teachers because of their understanding and ability to communicate said understanding.

Every time Guy found an interesting proposition for Markus, he would take down some notes for future reference. Since Guy had only recently entered this world, he was still a little green when it came to casting spells and cultivating in general. Guy wanted to shore up his basics so that he could practice by himself later on and gain some experience.

Did corporations exists during the feudal era?

Finally, a mage could also seek to gain employment with a private organisation. Companies and organisations naturally needed their own muscle. To do this they would cultivate loyalty into the mages from a mouldable age. Becoming an employee for a private organisation usually came with huge rewards, but equally high risks. There was always subterfuge and wars of attrition occurring between organisations. Since capitalism never rests.

Because it means he is leaving power behind when we could be about to face a powerful nightmare creature? You are basically advocating for going at it half way.

If he had not received a message from the outside… things might have turned out differently. Sunny would have ventured into the side passages eventually, but probably without leaving one of the shadows behind. Even if he did, he would have definitely taken the rest of the Irregulars with him.

The issue isn't whether people can argue...I can argue pigs can fly. the issue is whether you can CORRECTLY argue. No serious ethical system condones Murder because it is irrational to do so. Also Google essentially contested concepts.

I have already failed moral education… Lumian muttered under his breath.

If game affects Izroth and his mom...no reason it shouldn't affect the players?

"That piece I am speaking of is a person's life force. Of course, if we were just speaking about health, I could solve the issue with just a few potions. However, the life force I'm speaking of is something much more unique. It is the very thing that ties one to this world. But, seeing as how I am a player, it is a little different in my case. I can craft any number of magic items at C-rank and below. After that, twenty B-rank, ten A-rank, five S-rank, two SS-rank, and one SSS-rank—this is the limit imposed by the system in terms of crafting high-rank magic items." Morrighan explained.

It would be my greatest honor to personally see how the famous Richard Hyblaze conducts business. Please allow me to be an observer." Linkin said anxiously.

How can it be listed as '0' if there is no concept of 0. it had to be listed as free.

The reason Linkin was taken aback by the yearly salary had nothing to do with the asking price being too high. In fact, the price itself was entirely nonexistent as the yearly salary was listed at zero. In other words, she would be working for free!
