I always struggle with novels when the MC is broke and has debts, and they by vanity items when they get a little money. Usually ends up being a theme, where they waste money on stupid things, then plot armour bails them out time and time again.I hope this isn't going to be the case.
Most Chinese novels, MC will disregard perfectly good weapons to punch things. Author just making it so he can punch things, to show that he is a real Chinese MC.It's stupid but most authors do it in some way.
So the city is worthless and the gold coins are worthless. Everything is worthless, but MC keeps over spending to buy worthless things with worthless gold, that he used real money to buy.Am I the only one confused by this, if the server is shutting down, and the MC is the only one who knows what is going to happen. How, how is he still spending huge amounts of what everyone thinks is valuable to buy what they think is worthless? Sure you need it now, but surly you could of offered 325k for the city. Surly the equipment he bought is worth less than he paid. We are talking about what everyone except the MC believes is a digital item that is going to disappear in a month.
I came to the comments just to find this.
Apple from the very beginning was not a technology company, they aimed to use existing technologies to make a premium product. Only brand loyalty and UI, with a healthy dose of delusion and world wide tax fraud, keep them making boat loads of money. Money they struggle to access due to countries around the world, not happy with apple not paying tax. Lots of verifiable information about all their dodgy dealings available. If it wasn't for the monopoly laws in the US, laws they only enforce when they want to, apple would be a foot note in history. Only the advent of the iPod saved them, again technology that was already available but poorly marketed.
One of my seldom reviews. If you like kingdom building read this book. Very well written, well thought out and best of all logical. Not a lot of plot holes to dodge and the plot armour is thin and transparent, so not the usual fair on web novel. Highly recommended, I just hope author starts posting again soon, as that is my only negative. But saying that he has been very clear that life is busy, with a new baby on the way, so slow updates is unavoidable.
He way he is gathering funds is more suspicious than setting up a day trading account. Also the sudden amount of online courses and scientific papers is also suspicious. To think otherwise is naive.First of all your quantum computer with futuristic AI, can easily create a shadow company. The company can then trade the stock market to fund other people's research. You then funnel future tech to them, then when one of the labs has a 'breakthrough', he still wins, without the scrutiny. You do this until the shadow company is to powerful for anyone to do anything about.
Even if China gets Taiwan's semiconductor factories they will still suck at making semiconductors. They already have the capabilities to make semiconductors, they lack the technical ability. The Chinese phones, well pretty much anything not budget, is already years ahead of Apple. Apple is a marketing company not a technology company, hasn't been one for over a decade. The American dollar is not going to be replaced as the world currency. To much debt caught up in it to change, to many countries hold to much of it for them to want it to change, even China. But I guess that gets you 50 social credit, so good on you.P.S America is most likely to self destruct by 2040. That is actually a bad thing for the world, especially China.
I wonder where he came up with the idea?
The more I think about it, the more it confuses me. In a world that has a low literacy rate, what is the point of making paper in bulk? Even if you then decide to 'invent' the printing press, you are still in a niche market. Investing in farm machinery, would be a better first start, even forestry equipment would be better than paper.
Yes this all hurts my brain. I put it all down to lottery money. 90%, or their about, of people who win the lottery are worse off in 12 months. The author clearly has no idea about business, or has chosen to ignore business basics. He is writing like a lottery winner, spending money just to spend money. If it wasn't for the system, the plot armour, he would be living on the streets by the next week.
