Author forget lots of things like main mission, where he left pokemon, or update stats... well author made lots of moves like really a lot of original moves so forgetting something is sometimes acceptable. Why did i dropped this? simple. MC's personality. it's hard to grasp, when you think you know him enough but he'll slap you with new attitude in next chapter. He made tournament but he didn't follow the rules he himself set. and that was only a spar like wtf is wrong with him!? If author want his personality to be rule breaker then he should've made it like that since start. People that can't be trusted with simple things can't be trusted with big things.
