I feel like what they are calling boxing gloves aren't the big bulky type used in boxing.

Thanks for another great chapter, but I feel like you could've been a bit more creative with the chapter titles. You basically gave away the city is going to fall 28 chapters early, which took away any suspense for them holding back the siege.

This reminds me of scene from the 3rd Matrix when the city is under siege.
Then, the turrets and the MWPs joined the barrage and unleashed a hail of bullets. Numerous tracer rounds flew from the wall into the rolling cloud of brood beasts. It was strangely beautiful — as though a shining rain was falling from the ground into the sky, struggling to pierce the black veil of extinguishing darkness.
