This is a pure guess just due to the odd number of 19 and the fact that it could be kind cool, but I wonder if there were ever more than 19 ancients. Maybe there were twenty? After all, a battle on the surface would surely drain the mana of the ancients, due to the much lower concentration of mana on whatever layer of the world they reside in. It might just be a battle of attrition if Anthony does fight one however many chapters later.
From what I've been able to piece together, none of these confrontations went particularly well for the Legion forces. Lists of those who fell in battle are extensive. I can only imagine what it must have been like for those brave souls, seeking to bring down the horrific beasts that dwarfed any other threat that had spewed forth from the Dungeon in those years. The ancients caused untold devastation on the surface, millions of souls were lost. To kill even one of them would have been a triumph. Alas, it was not to be. It's raw ore though, so it isn't pure metal, and won't be as pure. Also, they probably got some wacky different ores in Pangera

I can't wait for him to start creating mechs that are basically just Stands. They will appear all menacing behind the mech, and just bombard the enemy with extremely specific attacks. He will probably only be able to make more specific constructs at Senior though

Hey there pal. After reading through the novel for all the parts that have been translated, I can confidently say that the author doesn't share the same mentality as other authors. This ***ism is intentional, and is confronted later in the novel with a character (no spoilers)
