It's an interesting book. I ended up reading the entire translation elsewhere as releases were a bit too slow for me, but I'll review it here anyway.Compared to other books you'll read MC is at least fairly consistent and does improve at a reasonable pace (at least early on). Unfortunately, like every other cultivation book eventually there's always a higher level, stronger being, or bigger threat, but that's the nature of these books.Zimo is a character that you can generally expect to take certain actions.. He's very committed to his principals and generally won't deviate even to his own detriment. I will say as the power levels get higher things get fun, but then eventually hit an extreme "return to simplicity" point (so, don't forget expect much there).World building does continue and things are generally explained enough not to leave any major holes although by the end there are a few plot points that are never quite explained.Overall enjoyable book. Honestly, it's a cultivation novel and that comes with its own stereotypes and expectations. It does often stick to its own guts which is nice. MC is generally likeable and there are a few scenes that would make you feel it would be cool animated. Certainly, not a wasted read.

I'm going to start by saying great job Legion. I've been reading and supporting this book since day one and have even gone as far as helping with the Win-Win challenges Monthly. It's also the only book I've decided to gift. Here's why... The author obviously has well thought out and planned direction for the book and its characters. Also, I love to see the natural feeling character progression. A lot of people may complain about Lith's character progression feeling like it spikes up and down, but that's just real life. I'm an older guy among readers here, I'm assuming, and in my experience the path to emotional and mental elevation is paved with many crooked roads. Lith tries to be great and to evolve, but every so often the memory of Lith past does hold him back. That's also a part of character growth. Solus tends to help keep him grounded and that's also true for many of us in life with shaky pasts. I can say my wife often keeps me emotionally grounded when things get overwhelming. Enough about that though. The world building has depth and you're given a reason to understand a good portion (or perhaps most) of the characters. No one is explicitly good or bad as everyone has their biases and motivations that may not be clear at first (very much like real life). While there are occasional inconsistencies in writing it's not something that happens often. The chapters are released very frequently and things don't tend to feel too drawn out. I'm also thankful for not having to suffer the constant trope of reexplaining something over and over. Great book. Great characters. Great Author. There's a reason it's so high on the list. If you weren't sure give it a go.
