because he wants to be somebody, also he's a main character and I'm not a fan of edgy angst unless it makes sense, so... you might wanna drop this if that's what you want.

Danzo is an interesting character, in that he believes that the leaf should crush all the other villages and he will do anything to make them able to win. however alot of fanfiction often overestimate what Root does, they mostly do assassinations outside the village, not inside, after all why harm the village that you want to crush all other villages? Now Orochimaru on the other hand is a great example of why roaming the elemental nations is a bad idea, because while yes he has one spy in konoha, outside of konoha he has an entire village that he can get to hunt you down, or he could just do it himself.
