Unless I’m wrong, isn’t the MC american in this story? Otherwise why would country M be the one leaving their citizen behind? How would it be racism if he’s gifted? Even if he was chinese, this is a story about the MC. The MC is always gifted in some way as in characteristics or physical traits.

Honestly? Even if its set up in another way where it bashes someone else for not spending billions and saving one person. I heavily doubt you would stand up for that someone. The right decision is to leave that guy, but since this is a NOVEL. Everything is fictional.
