i think its a matter of choice, somewhere in the first few parts of the story saying the oracle only shows a path to follow it is another matter. lets say soulmates have red string binding them they can either pull themselves together or cut it seperating them, and thats not even counting how you pull who’s pulling, or how you cut the string, and aparantly ruby made hers.
