Ok so ik this is late and im just starting out this story but for future readers here’s my two cents I think he didn’t expect servitude thankfulness yes but not eternal servitude for example if a doctor treats you from a lethal disease then you might be really thankful for that guy and maybe do him a few favors for whatever reason but i doubt many would go into servitude for the person or doctor that healed you
