FINALLY actually the correct schooling system
On Wednesday morning, Matthew was woken up early in the Morning by his Mother. Today was the day of the first half of his seventh year, secondary school education. Before attending Hogwarts Matthew completed the British primary education which has 6 school years from age 5 to 11. Today he will complete the exams for the seventh year, which belongs to the secondary school education. This phase goes from year 7 to 13. The 12 and 13 are the University preparation. In this phase, the students were aged from 11 to 16. Matthew planned to complete his University education by finishing Hogwarts so he could attend a university afterward. - HermesTheGod2yrCommented
It would be the end of year 7 exam which is not compulsory at all but most schools do run them to see how much a student has progressed (only compulsory exam in the UK are GCSES)

After the exams house, Ravenclaw partied in their Common Room. Most of their Students came out among the top 10 of their years. The older students brought snacks from the kitchen and even some butterbeer and Firewhisky which was off-limit for the younger students. For fuck sake this is something I hate in an Harry Potter fanfic and that is they use American school system and for someone aged 11-12 it’s year 7 or 6th grade in America whilst 7th grade is year 8 (the major exams in Uk happen in Year 11 which are the GCSE’s which at that time were measured in letters with A* being the highest and then the next one is the A levels which happen in Year 13 and are measured in letters with A* being the highest and normally people take 3 but you can take as many as you like (that’s the same for GCSE with it normally being a minimum of 10 with two being English lit and Lang and one being maths (Eng Lang and Maths are mandatory)))
His parents were happy for his progress and talent in magic, although concerned about the general magical society and their bigoted views. Mastering the seventh-grade materials with the help of the AI Chip and the knowledge of his previous life was no challenge. Vulpes was wearing his outfit that he got from the Gods (see the cover or look in the comments.) He also had his aviator glasses on to hide his eyes. He was not self conscious of his eyes however. He wore the glasses so that rumors were not spread around about his eyes that could reach to Salem. After all if Salem heard there was someone with a silver eye as well as a red eye like her own. It could potentially be dangerous for him.

Soon I turned 5, and I began my first year in school. I was excited about being able to go somewhere new but being in first grade felt like an insult to my intelligence. thanks to my memory from my past life, I still had my physics knowledge, university-level maths, and so on. I pretty much slept in class, talked to Drak about magic, and only occasionally answered questions when directed to me. The teachers initially brought it up with the Knight's who reprimanded me for being lazy but they all soon shut up when I got 100% on every single test they could throw at me. - HermesTheGod2yrCommented
