I'm quite a bit surprised by how much I'm enjoying this story. I definitely got what I expected, but I also got a bit more as well. I've only read the first volume, and I definitely rate what I've read as above average. There aren't too many issues with grammar/mechanics of the writing, and a couple instances of using the wrong word that is similar in spelling but different in meaning. One thing I particularly enjoy is how Nux actually drives the plot forward, and I'm not just talking about the spicy scenes. It's nice to have a character with goals and objectives. I'm not sure how things turn out with the ladies of the harem later, but I do have a criticism that they don't seem to be particularly active in whatever goals that they might have. Seeing as our perspective character is primarily Nux, it's not always the easiest to show something like that, and it may not be entirely necessary for this type of a story, however, as an addict of reading, and a lover of writing it's always nice to see storytelling fundamentals improve. Overall, what I have read thus far does a good job to keep me interested in reading more and seeing more of what this world has to offer as well as how our MC will interact with it. I'm curious to see how he might deal with set backs. What he can gain from failure. How I can cheer for him when he succeeds. Also, of course how exciting the spicy scenes can get.
This is a story that just gets better as time goes on. The MC is very intelligent and cunning, however, that doesn't mean he wins all the time which keeps the story from growing stale, and even some of his victories come at a cost. He grows stronger as time passes and comes up against harder and harder challenges that test his limits every time. I think I have reread this from the beginning at least five times. Every time I fully enjoy it. It may not be quite a masterpiece, but I am tempted to call it one with the quality of storytelling that is there.
Ugh... teenagers!
I thought that was pointing to the previous elder that passed away... Maybe I misread?
Oh no! He's hot!
Funny how at one point his defensive techniques were the most lacking.
Yeah pretty sure Fang Yuan broke her free from fate.
W-wha?
Yo momma!
Absolutely brilliant, you don't match your enemy's pace. You push them match yours.
They are both peak rank 4
I hate to say this, but....
I think sunk cost fallacy is going to be settling in right about now.
