I've been reading this book for a while now, and it's amazing! although my words can't do this work of art justice I'll try my best: The characters feel so real and the author does an amazing job in making all of the magical laws make sense. when the protagonist becomes more powerful it isn't in some vague way that he is suddenly "stronger" but he gains some new thing through hard work. it makes the story that much more impressive because it feels like he is just describing how another world works rather than some make belive thing!

Great fantasy story full of mages and magic using beings. The Author does a fantastic job of combining a fairly complex magic system with a pretty simple concept of power levels. The Author uses this to write battles with realistic (in terms of the world) twists and out comes. When the MC and an antagonist come to blows and their of “equal strength” the MC does win just because of some “MC plot-armor bullsh*t” it’s because the Author laid down the groundwork for why he learned and obtained the skills and abilities to pull through.

I can’t recommend this book enough. One of the sticking points for me is how fleshed out the characters are. Yes there are villains that can easily be labelled as evil and deserve to be killed off but there’s also others that have depth, not just into how strong or bad they are, but emotionally as well. You get a feel for who they are and grow attatched, not just leaving them as Villain B or something. The best part is that you still feel they need to be stopped or even killed, but it will make that choice heavier for you.

I've been reading this novel for around 2 years now and finally remembered to drop a review. Before I read this novel, I was not much of a reader, I really disliked reading since at that time I thought of reading as 'boring and wasting time', but around 2 years ago, I randomly stumbled upon this novel and thought it looked interesting so I decided to give it a try, when I read the first chapter, I got so hooked that I continued reading and reading and when I stopped, I realized that I had been reading for more than an hour,

I am SO IMPRESSED! Definitely one of the best novels out there. Pro 1- very non stereotypical characters who are all 3D, the bad guys arnt just bad, they have families and aspirations etc and the good guys arnt some saints 2- the character development is fantastic! The main character starts off as a cynical, borderline serial killer type and slowly grows overtime and continues to face new growth hurdles just like all the other characters in the book 3- the level of complexity of the world, magical system, enchanted items, society is simply amazing 4- there is a main plot from the main charachter’s point of view but are many smaller plots and you get to experience the story from the POV of several characters, including bad guys. Also, the level of political complexity is interesting 5- The story goes through several sagas and eventually goes into open world exploration with more sagas 6- the female characters in the book are very strong and are not co dependent on their male counterparts. There is a nice balance 7- healthy dose of comical chapters that have me laughing out loud in public 8- good themes that are well represented- romance, bullying, family, empathy, greed, human brutality, hard work to name a few Cons 1- slow burn at first but well worth the wait bc it takes a while to set things up

Overall, the book has an overwhelming sense of self. This isn’t a story that follows every other trope or timeline, but one that follows its own path. Not only that, the story is consistent and makes sense, the foreshadowing is used correctly, the characters have shown steady, fluid development, and the world is created well. 5/5 stars deserved. This could be published as a paperback eventually as a bestseller
