it's not that she's stupid, it's that she has no choice. Both judges (her brother and mother) have spoken. She cannot say no. I wish I had read this review before I gave this story a go. Her actions are beyond sickening. She literally kicked him, his head collided with a table then later said "I'm sure it doesn't hurt. Fortunately, your hair is covering it. You can't tell it's there." like what the heck? Who does crap like this?

I'm really hating her behavior. This spoiled brat act is making it very hard for me to continue reading.

Perhaps the scars were only on the palms of her hands. I once read of a punishment which involved sticks striking the insides of the hands, since the palms are much more sensitive and prone to pain than the upper parts of the hand. Knowing this, if this were indeed the cause, that would explain why it wasn't mentioned. It's easier to hide palms after all.
