In all honesty me too. But reading further into it, you could say it is, but now at the same time. If you read for yourself the wiki for Sith Alchemy and Sith Magic. You'll find that Sith Magic is talked about more in depth and is far more versatile/flexible. As for Sith Alchemy, there not much depth about it. But there are recounts of events that took place using Sith Alchemy, which explained its techniques and processes.

Sith Alchemy: Is a science that refers to a number of areas under the Sith. It encompassed any power or technique which used the Dark side of the Force to permanently alter an item or living being. Making strange creatures and artifacts of great power, this and more is the capabilities of Sith Alchemy. It is important to note that Sith Alchemy works hand in hand with Sith Magic in certain occasions, like the making of Artifacts or Creatures.
