If self inserts had to be fully accurate to the author we'd have a lot more losers within these stories. all self inserts are portions and embellishments, restrictions and additions.

They helped add some dimensionality, though a couple times they felt a bit distant, as if they weren't fully connected. I'm not sure why I felt this way, I think the pacing felt different during those times; is what I think. I approve of this use of multiple PoVs
The bittersweetness along with accuracy in how quickly relations can develop and change had it feeling rather grounded. It was an enjoyable. The stubborn brightness that shows nestled beneath/inbetween darkness/shadow, Bittersweet.
They feel right enough, I didn't have any moments of discordance to break me away from the characters and story.
