He isn't going to stay in Konoha, the whole reason for infiltrating Kumo was to serve as a warning to Konoha and the other villages, that if they tried to kill him, he could hurt them worse. Plus it would make Konoha vary of immediately attacking him before they managed to figure out some way to keep their scrolls and documents safe, buying him enough time to patch up some of the holes in his knowledge regarding Nature maniputaion...
