Very good stuff Mr. Author. However I do wish there were a couple chapters of his training. Nothing crazy just some growth/bonding would have been nice. It's not really a negative to not have that just feels like a missed opportunity to show that Damion has some real determination.
MC is arrogant and stupid. World is pretty bland and so far has nothing I see that is unique. Side characters are about as one dimensional as possible. Ultimately my review comes down to the my view that this novel hasn't shown me a single point that makes it unique. The one aspect that could be viewed as unique (MC is the author of the world so knows whats gonna happen) is immediately taken away by the actual author so it really makes absolutely no difference. Last but not least the book has 99 chapters as of my review and yet the Author already has 30 locked behind the premium chapter pay wall.
While I agree with LuciferHateia that constant plot armor can ruin a story I'm also glad you didn't let the sister die. Revenge as a primary motivation is so over done on this platform. While protection of loved ones is close behind, it allows for more variation. Assuming the sister will no longer be a weakling requiring baby sitting and the other sister probably ending up training under Rag. Still provides motivation to get much stronger while being far more interesting than simple revenge. Keep it up Mr. Author!
Everything was great for quite a long time. Very slow but not to an exaggerated extent and pretty comparable to similar novels in the genre. Novel sucked me in for quite a while.... However a certain event takes place in the mid 200s that for some reason absolutely ruined the entire novel for me. Even now I can't really point at why. After a single event all motivation to keep reading this novel went out the window. Can't really blame the author I guess. it's not even bad writing. It just completely pulled me out of the story.
i get that this was supposed to be a "wake up and smell the roses" moment for the kids. At the same time I don't think the parents should have mentioned feeling bad about it. It's their job, it's part of why they are where they are, nothing to feel bad about. The beast would try and kill any human it came across so why feel bad for it when it wouldn't feel bad for you? I also think it's a little forced to have Jason break down due to sympathy with a beast. At least not this scenario.
I wish I could give this novel a 0. However the premise is great, the world is great, the writing is great. Everything about this is great. Except the MAIN character. Dropping at early premium because the MC is unbearable. Genuinely never thought I would read a novel where the MC is so bad and so poorly developed I drop the novel while the rest in absolutely fantastic. I mean the MC goes on a couple paragraph tangent about how "reincarnators" would actually be fearful of losing their life. But absolutely REFUSES to do the minimum research on the world to find out how to not end up dead. Even after he comes close to dying on multiple occasions. Makes absolutely no sense. Even in a more advanced world common sense still functions. It's like making a DnD character that sounds cool on paper but ruins the entire campaign for the party. Whole heartedly support the Author, like I said everything else is great, wish I could ignore the MC enough to read the rest.
Story is pretty good overall. The pacing, character development, and story were all really great until roughly 150-200chp in. For whatever reason the quality takes a large drop after that. Much slower and way less interesting. Chap 200-351 really doesn't feel like anything has progressed despite a lot actually happening. Still worth a read but the quality drop was sad to see.
There is no reverse culture sharing (appropriation) for the same reason the author hates on other real world cultures. They think their the best. If he can't even accept the different cultures in the real world of course he won't be willing to allow a third world medieval culture to influence his own.
