Anyone can receive O- no matter their own blood type, while ~ 85% of the population can receive O+ as well.

ok... lots of factions here. 1. esper academy/ international powers want espers controlled, imprisoned or killed. They are willing to torture teenagers and hold the non-compliant espers as prisoners for a lifetime. Graduation seems to include acceptance of the impending end of all espers. Story implies that XH graduated twice, and we know he is resistant to control and hypnosis. Which leaves the question... is his resistance stronger than their torture? Will he follow the directives of the esper academy? 2. esper groups of various nations are attempting to build lives under these international rules. Is XH using the special department to grow the strength of China's espers? Possibly to challenge or resist the international government plan? 3. Superhuman Organization has unhealthy attitudes about normals. Perfect illustration of the thin line between an inferiority complex and a superiority complex. XH is correct not to trust them. Little Flame's parents might have been targeted because of conflict between factions, but there is no justification for targeting Little Flame, who knew nothing of espers at that time. Questions: Is Brother Ji part of the Superhuman Organization or a separate faction ? How did Xi's obviously clueless parents find her at the orphanage? Is Rabbit part of the Superhuman Organization? How ridiculously powerful would a child of XX and XH be?

She is unfailingly stupid. What advantage will she gain by slandering her own son?

Maybe I'm in the minority on this, bit I love that Iris is not talented at acting. She has so many gifts, her music, computer skills, languages, and even business sense. She does need to be a good actress, athlete or fashion designer. Let her have venues of both strength and weakness.

I've reread sections of this novel so many times... but this chapter and the prior one are often chapters I look for. These brothers understand, support and trust one another. It's beautiful.
