Well, that was the motive behind it. The MC I designed wasn't supposed to fall into every single plot around him. It isn't your typical eastern fantasy novel where the MC suffers from bad luck all the time but at the end of the day a miracle happens out of nowhere and that curse gets converted into a boon. It's better to have an MC who is an insidious character by himself. He plans way ahead and is able to manipulate the situation to his benefit. Well about the poison cliche, the general plot depends too much on the enemy's behavior and hence is predictable, while poison is something which can be utilized covertly. Thank you for the comments. I don't remember there being any consideration of filial pity after Long Tao cultivated back. He abandoned and ignored the existence of his clan. Also Long Tao transferred into the host's body and hence his emotions are somewhat altered by the feelings of the host himself.

He would be able to easily surpass his current cultivation level due to practicing three different kinds of paths, and hence goes through an overall development every time he break-throughs

I never said that the Mc is going to awaken his memories. This is not a desolate era kind of novel.

I designed the MC to rely on his past characteristics, not past memories, as they would be essentially useless here. HE didn't travel to the past from the future, he came to a whole different world. The two things are not synonymous.

He wouldn't be getting stronger. He abandoned those who abandoned him. The MC is designed not with the memories of his past life but the characteristics he held in his past life. Hence he researches and tries to blend multiple martial arts, but he wouldn't be applying any modern physical laws to it. The arts are devised according to the natural laws of the Qi continent and hence there is no requirement as such.
