I went back and checked it was specifically chapter 153 and he did indeed say it was because it was more convenient for some things (I still assume that means he was trying to ward off all the fangirls)

I feel like you have to be a terrible person from the start in order to grow to hate a child you raised for 17 years even if they've pulled these couple little pranks/incidents in your presence. Me and all of my siblings were adopted and my little sister has stabbed my parents in the back a hundred times probably by now stolen money from them tricked them into paying for several car repairs and never paying them back among other things including abusing her own child and then yelling at my parents when they tried to teach him how to behave properly saying that they're not his parents and they shouldn't tell him how to behave... stupid things like that and my parents would still reach out a hand to help her if she came looking for help in a moment of need. That's how parents are supposed to behave to their children even if they're not their biological children.
