The highest praise I can give Chrysalis is to the story's worldbuilding and the incredibly broad lens the reader views the unraveling plot. Several events feel as if we are viewing monumentally historical events through several unique perspectives which is incredibly refreshing. Many stories that attempt this are bogged down by the sheer scale it itself tries to set up, yet the author here writes every single perspective with superbly compelling monologue and dialogue. Changes in perspective are always welcome and exciting. As you would expect from a fantasy reincarnation story, several characters eventually gain incredible power. However, the power always feels incredibly earned and natural to the ever increasing scope of things. The inevitable power creep is there, but events still very much hold weight and have tangible stakes. One criticism I have is that there are several typos and grammar errors sprinkled throughout the chapters. Though with the fluid pace of the writing, they are much less immersion breaking than I thought they would be. It took me several days to binge all 650 chapters in their entirety and I highly recommend readers commit to reaching later chapters as they give you a much broader and more interesting view of the story. 4.8/5 ants are cool now I guess.
